Carshalton Titans

Chairman Update

A lot of update has happened since last blog. Players have joined the club, more teams have been created, Tournaments played, and Youth development.

We have been running some taster session for u12 mixed and for u14 boys. These sessions have gone above and beyond our imagination, with 19 kids attending the first session. We are so far in the development that we are planning to enter a U14 Boys team into EHA competitions in September. This team will be coached by our very own Oliver Thompson, Grant Viljoen and Rob Damianou. Currently we have 11 U14 Boys active for our training session, and hopefully grow that even further over the next month or so.

We will continue to run our U12 mixed session throughout the season, more updates on the dates and time will be informed out as soon as possible. Local school links, parents contacts, word of mouth and Social media have made this possible, so I personally want to thank everyone involved with creating the Youth section, and for creating the family atmosphere Carshalton Titans is so positively known for. Our U19 boys is still going strong over the preseason, a massive new update is that the coaches are now in place. Goncalo and Liam will be leading the U19 hopefully to National Champions by the end of the season. A great coaching team that I feel will be working hard towards that goal and develop our players even further into EHA talent pathway or Great Britain National Teams. We currently have 11 active players, and we are looking towards having 15 active U19 players by the start September.

Our men’s team have gone through a massive player increase. Josh D, Caleb, Bernardo, Goncalo, Alex, Daniel, Tirath. And so far, today dates we haven’t lost any players. A few will go to university after the holidays but will continue to play for our men’s team. We will have our 1st team, and for next year also a 2nd team registering for Regional Leagues. Due to the high amount of new commers we have needed to make a 2nd team to keep everyone in play. It wonderful that we are in a position where two teams is needed, and also here thinking about development. 2nd team will also include some youth players that will get the experience of playing with men’s.

Beside team news Carshalton Titans was heavily represented for this years Nation League Tournament. Following players attended for either GB or Portugal. Thomas, Liam, Maxwell, Tyler, Oliver, Rob, Josh D, Josh, Derry, Alex, Regis, Tirath, Goncalo, Daniel, Bernardo, Adam, Elliot and Teddy. A great weekend for all players, and also for the social aspect. I would like to thank all parents and supporters coming out for these days, great to see the cheering. A great event put together by London GD – Jordi.

A new kit has been official for next season. England Handball have arranged together with MJM Sport deals on kits and handball equipment. We have therefore purchased a new set of kit for the upcoming season. We are very exited to get these shirts and short sweaty as soon as possible.

We are continuing to work with local schools around Carshalton to promote handball as the great sport we all are enjoying and love. Please reach out to us if your child is playing handball in PE, but don’t have an after-school club to play at, we are always looking for more players to join the Titans.

On the 14th of June we held our yearly AGM at the Greyhound Hotel/Pub in Carshalton. A record amount of numbers attended this AGM 47 in total. The AGM gave a big insight to how the club is currently being run, what our prospect for next season is, and general club information. It was also an opportunity to hand out the player awards and say a special thank you to the people around that assist with various club task. The club sponsors were also a part of the AGM, and it was a great evening for them to see how their contribution is being used.

Please make sure you follow all our social media profiles, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram to keep yourself up to date with the team information, club arrangement etc.
