PHL Season Overview & Match Review Titans vs WLE

On Sunday 15th December Titan’s first team faced off against West London Eagles HC in the last premier league fixture before the Christmas break. Throw off was at 3pm and it took place at Barking Sport-house & Gym. There was immense pressure on the men’s team as we were coming off the back of 3 consecutive losses in the league, and knew this was a must win game to try and put some distance between ourselves and the relegation spot, as well as trying to claw ourselves back towards the top half of the table. It was never going to be easy as West London Eagles were always going to come to win and fight right until the end. The first half started perfectly for Titans, gaining a 5 goal lead in the opening stretch of the game. However with some defensive errors and poor decision making from the reds, Eagles fought and brought it back within 2, with Titans winning 15 – 13 at the half time break. It stayed close throughout the second half, with Titans never gaining more than a 3 goal lead on Eagles, however in the last 10 minutes of the game Titans managed to neutralise Eagle’s main attacking threat and with some excellent game management managed to pull away to secure a third league win this season, winning the game by 5, 29-24. There were some standout individual performances from both sides including Regis Dore netting 8 times for Titans and Fabio Goutet netting 13 times for Eagles. We continue to exceed our own expectations, and wish to solidify our place amongst the other premier league teams. We could not have asked any more from the team & coaching staff and we thank all of our loyal supporters continue to help us run the club and follow us around the country. We have had an amazing start to our premier league campaign as a newly promoted side, and we aim to maintain and improve our form going into the new year. From everyone at the club, we hope you have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. See you in 2020 !!! CTHC Committee
