Carshalton Titans

Titans make it 4 from 4!

Riding on the high from the win two weeks previous against Bristol, Carshalton were again facing up to a team above them in the league (albeit with a game in hand) Chelsea HC the opposition.

It was a tense start, both teams easing their way into the game, trading goals and saves – the score line moving to 2-2 early on.

We soon found our feet and pressed onto an advantage, liam dictating the plays in attack and Maxwell leading the line in defence. We soon found ourselves with a 7 goal advantage in no small part down to our French duo of Regis and Remy on the left and right wings. We fell away towards the end of the half, but we’re still looking good with a 21-16 lead.

When the second half started, both team’s goalkeepers were on top, Jack with an impressive triple save to keep our advantage at 5 early on. Tariq stepped up and ensured their penalties were kept in check. Much like the first half, once we were settled we began to control the game, with the likes of Chris and Adam starting to manage the situations and keep our lead going as well as Remy with an acrobatic goal their keeper will see in their nightmares.

We started to fall away towards the end of the second half but were boosted with the inclusion of some of the younger players, Derry and Grant joining Rob on the court, Grant and Rob shoring up the defence while Derry Scoring a side arm Kempa from the other end that surely cannot be topped!

All in all a strong performance from this Titans team who took the game by six. The scoreline 35-29. Coach Andersen’s trip back to Denmark this weekend will have been made all the better on the back of this result. MoM was Jack who’s saves kept the score line comfortable for the team.

Also a massive thank you to our supporters online viewing the game, and a special thank you to Jo Daminau and Barbara Viljoen for the assistance with live stream and scoresheet.

Next up is Brighton away in the cup where the team will look to challenge themselves against Premier Division opposition.
